Iyon na nga...the rest is history. Nabigo tayong lahat.

DURHAM, N.C. - All of the students expelled in a cheating scandal at the Duke University business school were from Asian countries, while other students were punished less severely, their attorney says.

Many of the students involved in the case at the Fuqua School of Business confessed instead of fighting the charges because of different cultural norms in their countries, Durham attorney Robert Ekstrand said.

"There is something else going on here, something that needs to be explained before we go forward with this, because it doesn't look right," Ekstrand said in Tuesday in The News & Observer of Raleigh.

In their home cultures, he said, "a confession or an admission of guilt can be a way to apologize." He said they sometimes wrote confession letters without understanding the specific accusations.

Officials disclosed last month that 34 business school graduate students were convicted of cheating on an exam and other assignments. Nine were expelled, and 15 were suspended for a year and given a failing grade in the class. The others received failing grades.

Ekstrand has filed appeals on behalf of 16 students.

The nine expelled students, all from Asian countries, would likely lose student visas and have to leave the country in the next couple of weeks if their appeals fail, Ekstrand said.

Duke officials have said students involved in the cheating case were from various countries, including the U.S. They declined to comment on the cases until appeals are completed next week.

"We must respect the confidentiality that the appeals process requires and our students deserve," said Mike Hemmerich.

The investigation began after a professor found similarities in answers to a take-home exam. In an appeal filed last week, Ekstrand said honor code violations were mostly minor and unintentional and questioned why some possibly exculpatory evidence was not given to students before the appeals.

My winner here is USA, I love the Elvis Presley concept matched with a rockstar attitude! It's a legendary approach to pay tribute to the Great Elvis who himself built a niche in the music industry. Elvis is a legend and Rachel is legendary in that costume! Philippines' is outright fabulous, I love the mask and how she presented herself, not much an expert in the catwalk but the face truly shines! Nobody's mentioning about Dominican Republic I think she pulls this off very nicely, It shows how Dominicans put a major importance to their marine resources and I admire them for that, imho this costume is better than Amelia Vega's number in 2003. Kazakhstan has another very nice costume here, I love last year's too. Colombia she looks very hija in that costume! completing my list are Angola, Venezuela, Mexico (I think she might win the costume award), Tanzania (looks so classy), India, Honduras, Ecuador, Peru, Korea (I love the drum) and China!
Overall there are great costumes this year compared to years past, in fact an evidence to this is my effort to share and talk about my favorite ones, makes me wanna go and watch it live!

MISS INDIA

MISS VENEZUELA

When in the past we would have a sensory overload of these two beauties from two pageant superpowers - this year the silence is deafening and very odd for both Misses India and Venezuela.

Despite the eerie but noticeable silence from the camps of both beauties, many pageant analysts this year are expecting both to be in the Final cut. You would just have to browse the numerous Top 15 lists listed in the pageant messageboards. Not to mention, both Misses India and Venezuela have been consistent among betmakers - placing both of them in Top 15.

So what's up with this deafening silence then? Have both Indian and Venezuelan pageant supporters learned their lessons that hyping one's own delegate does not help in the end where it counts?

Go figure!

5/22 - Swimsuit Preview - In addition to preliminary interviews, the contestants paraded in swimsuits for the judges at closed doors. They took notes which will be useful tomorrow night, when they will score all 77 delegates not only in swimsuits, but also in evening gowns.

- Second round of interviews today - Half of this year's Miss Universe delegates were interviewed yesterday, while the remaining half will be tested by the preliminary judges today. Based on the clip interviews available at the Miss Universe official site, candidates from India, South Africa, USA, Japan, Korea, Venezuela, Serbia, Jamaica, Spain, Mexico, Philippines, Greece, Tanzania, Angola, Indonesia and Guatemala are among those who are most likely to impress the judges. Others who could conquer the panel with their sparkling personalities and pull a surprise are Lebanon, New Zealand, China, Indonesia and Denmark.

The preliminary interviews are very important for the contestants to cause a positive first impression on the judges. Contestants who score high in this competition have a good chance to do well in the swimsuit and gown competitions and advance to the semi-finals. We must keep in mind that Miss Universe is looking for a young woman who will be working with the organization during an entire year, therefore, the interview is possibly the most important of the three competitions.

# EL WEBMASTER DE CRITICAL BEAUTY ATACA A LOS MEXICANOS! -- Jose Angel, Tuesday, May 22, 2007, 02:55:10pm [1] (sw01.verizon.com/166.68.134.174)
Jajajaja!!!

Elvis is alive and well - and she kicks ass!

• THE BOOING INCIDENT : The National Costume Presentation took place at the world-famous Angel of Independence Plaza in Mexico City yesterday. The event was free to the general public, which meant that anyone - crazies, loonies, perverts and intellectuals - could have hurled chimichangas or hurt any of the girls - but luckily none of this sort happened. Thank God! However, poor Miss USA Rachel Smith was booed by an unruly crowd. Wearing a well-fitted white Elvis Presley costume with dark glasses and guitar, Smith remained unhindered by the boos and like a true beauty queen, held her composure, gyrated her hips, strummed her guitar, and rock-n-rolled her way in and out of the stage, ever smiling! Watch a videoclip from the event in YouTube.

Flashback: 1993 in Mexico City's Auditorio Nacional. Miss USA Kenya Summer Moore was booed everytime her country's name was called by host Dick Clark. Why? No one exactly knows the reason, but it is now common knowledge that the Mexicans simply did not appreciate Moore and that the booing had not been caused by some political or cultural rift between the U.S. and Mexico. In last year's Miss Universe in Los Angeles, Miss USA Tara Conner was also booed by a predominantly Mexican audience at the Kodak Theatre, and it was understandable why specially in the light of George W. Bush's illegal immigration reforms and the increasing cultural and political clash between defenders of and protestors of illegal immigration. And this could also have been the reason Smith was booed during the National Costume show yesterday - ironically - at a plaza that symbolizes tolerance and freedom.

And because of this ugly booing incident, many pro-Rachel fans have sent angry e-mails to MUO accusing the organization for being neglectful of the safety of their candidate, and the lack of ample security overall. This anger is reflected on several message boards, specially the United States of Beauty forum where pro-Rachel fans - and staunch American citizens - are expressing strong resentment towards Mexicans ("Down with Mexico!" "Nuke Mexico City!" "Boycott Mexican goods!") Some observers have noted that MUO expected this kind of rowdiness from the Mexicans, that it is all part of the Mexican concept of entertainment: you get booed if you put on a bad show, and you get cheered if you put on a good show. Sounds like a universal concept to me!

But I don't think that the real problem is the Mexicans booing Miss USA; the real problem is MUO's gradual descent to the abyss of mediocrity. Does anyone want reminders? I do! First, it took MUO a considerable amount of time to find a suitable venue; they chose Mexico because it was cheaper and closer. Second, lesser countries are bidding to host the pageant. Mexico for the fourth time? What else is there to know about Mexico that we haven't seen through CNN, FOX news, Discovery Channel, YouTube, National Geographic, Univisión, Telemundo or telenovelas, and through personal trips to the country? There are nearly 200 countries in the world (and most of them broadcast Miss Universe), yet no one could come up with a fresher and lesser known country? Third, the quality of contestants has gone from sublime to profane (more and more countries are sending their national winners to Miss World). Fourth, significant activities have been cancelled (fashion show, cultural trips, and now - according to William's report - the cancellation of a coronation ball! I can't imagine Cinderella going straight to bed without partying after having found her glass slipper!). I could go on and on, and but I decided to spare you the misery! LOL!

No, the Mexicans should not be booing Miss USA; they should be booing MUO and their local officials who failed to control and discipline the booing crowd. The Mexicans should not be booing any of the candidates on stage; instead, they should be booing at the incredible injustices and barbaric cultural practices in their country, as expressed by sash-adorned local women protesting the brutal rapes, murders, false imprisonments, human rights abuses, and cruel bullfights. No, the Rachel Smith supporters shouldn't be condemning an entire nation for a possible isolated incident perpetrated by a few; instead, they should be condemning MUO for pretending that the booing would not happen again.

Imagine next year's Miss USA dressed up as a border patrol agent.

Subject: A NATIONAL OR GLOBAL BEAUTY QUEEN IS INDEED A REAL QUEEN, A SOCIAL QUEEN!

Author:
Analyst-Realist

Date Posted: 11:20:38 05/22/07 Tue

A critic and detractor said that a beauty contest / pageant winner and title holder is not a queen.

Well, what and how would you call a woman who is formally crowned (wears an official crown), bestowed an official scepter, and conferred an official title in a formal process (of election) through a national or international contest / competition which is also a stage presentation, a pageant, and a TV program/show in one?

She is called A BEAUTY QUEEN! A DIFFERENT KIND OF QUEEN! She is not a political queen like a nation-kingdom queen (monarch / royalty). She is not political. But A BEAUTY QUEEN is A SOCIAL QUEEN who functions as a national or international ambassador of goodwill and amity (as well as tourism), a national / international role model, environmental advocate, philanthropist, a humanitarian, etc.

But in the global scene or in GLOBAL SOCIAL STANDING, compared to a monarch or royalty (kingdom queen or king) and their counterparts (first lady, president or prime minister), the elected queens in the Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss Earth, Miss International major global competitions are REAL GLOBAL QUEENS (real global persons). Kingdom queens and heads of states are not. The country U.S.A. may be powerful because of its strong, large economy and military might, and can meddle and intervene in international conflicts, but its leader is designated as "U.S.A. President" or "President of the United States" country ONLY and not as "President of the World" or "World President" for there is none.

The election and coronation of a monarch or kingdom queen is only an internal affairs or event of a nation-kingdom (even if it is well-hyped through print and broadcast media internationally), while [b]the election and coronation of a world beauty queen (Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss Earth, Miss International) is GLOBAL, involving so many nations of all continents of the entire planet, and watched / witnessed on TV live at the same time by more than 2 BILLION people worldwide!

A world beauty queen is a global queen while a nation-kingdom queen (monarch or royalty) is NOT. Though a world beauty queen reigns for only a year, the extent or scope of her reign and queenship covers the entire / whole world, global and worldwide (indeed, she is a global queen); while the reign of a kingdom queen or monarch / royalty is LIMITED to her nation-kingdom or countries-colonies only.

a. From PBB forum:

Girls/guys, just got new info today from a super reliable source about the balik bahay and dionne!! (Trust me people, dayaan na talaga sa PBB)!!!

The PBB mgnt manipulated the scores because of the ratings. They are worry na lalong bumaba uli ang ratings nila. And the intriguing rumor about "wendy-dyogi" relationship. (Grabe na ito!!!!)
(Nel is so GAY!!! Bruce is manggagancho-gold digger!!! Wendy is such a Bi@%h!!!)

Alam ng PBB ang tungkol sa mga hinaing ng tao sa forum because they hire people to check the status of the show. They make a report every week about it..

Haay, kakaiba talaga ang season na ito.. I keep on wonndering what's with Wendy na dapat nilang ipanalo!!! And to think when Wendy was nominated together with Saicy and Dionne, si Wendy ang may pinakamababang rating. Nakakapagtataka. Big Brother is obviously favored some housemates. Kumbaga, may favoritism. This is so true. Akala nila bobo ang mga tao.

"Pls pass ds info to others.. so dey wil know wats really hapenin insde pbb2. kung my nggaw lng tlag kmi. " (text from my super reliable source)
---------------
What a revelation!!! And if Nel, Wendy or Bruce will be nominated, I hope people will not vote for them. .

More about Bruce gold digger!!!
Mga sis, from a very reliable source, the reason why hindi pwde sabihin ni Bruce about their relationship ni princess ba yun? is because of religion. jehovahs witness daw kse yung girl. super depressed n iyak daw ng iyak the now ex girlfriend to think na nung nagkasakit daw yung mommy ni bruce yung girl daw muna ang nagbayad and its a shinning 100k! Thats also the reason kung bakit sumali si bruce sa PBB, pra mag bayad ng utang sa girlfriend nya na sinaktan nya ng sobra becoz of his infatuation kay wendy! super hirap daw kse si bruce as in hand to mouth ang effect. i swear, ang sad tlga for the ex gf.

It's really sad for bruce's now ex gf, to put up with all of this. hindi man lang maging sensitvie si Big Brother about her bruised heart, tlgang pinipilit pang ipaglapit si wendy n bruce. sna lang tlga mabayaran ni bruce yung 100K na utang nya in any way kse kung hindi nakakahiya sha!! Sana mangyari to at makarma si BB.

pag nadelete to totoo to!! ( well hindi naman magsisinungaling ang kaibigan ko sa akin so totoo nga ito)

****************EL AFTER PARTY*********************

GRACIAS!

ROUGH TRANSLATION:

It is the first Universal Miss to that I attend, as much anticipation and emotion multiply each one of the experiences that are lived, since you arrive at the city yields until - if you have boldness and luck sights to the eyes to some or several of the candidates. I ran with much luck, and since I left the hotel Seville Palace in the Stroll of the Reformation in a fresh morning with 20° of temperature, the cloudy sky and with the huge avenue closed to the cars for exclusive use of cyclists and pedestrians, she felt that she was going to be an unforgettable day... and was it. Arriving at one from the streets near the angel of independence first that I saw related to the event were the banners with the photo of MU 2006 hanging of posts of many avenues of the City of Mexico, also spectacular announcements with photos of she herself announcing the transmission by TNT, as well as pósteres enormous placed in the bus-stops announcing the aid with photos of Rose Maria. Those that says that they are not giving much diffusion to the aid definitively are because they do not have been in the city. We arrived in the morning at the angel to 11:30, I I went with two of my better friends: Lestat and Jetsetter, two foristas of this way, first that we did are to surround the angel and to show itself behind the fences, we could there see sentaditas in the steps from the protected public square Miss Montenegro and Miss Australia and taking photos from all the angles of the avenue to miss Poland, soon we saw miss Panama, with megacuerpazo and wearing red shoes with a platform like of 18 centimeters, we went away there to place near the hardwood floor and we were to other chavos with which soon we identified with ours nicks: there we were: Angelopolitano, Adomas, Lestat, Mario Mud wall, Luis DF, Sergio DF, Jetsetter, Xavito Puebla, Mike, Rodmex, AlexBoy77 (TIPAZOS ALL), and several were with us two Puerto Ricans more, also and a group of Guatemalans, ahh and special mention to the honor guest of our group: the breast of Rose Maria, one very handsome, simple and charming lady, we congratulated it to have that daughter, but I believe that better we had to congratulate to Rose by the so pretty mother that it has. One had already been sprightly and the sun warmed up a little more. There was pleasant music, to the 1:00 p.m. it touched a called group Jessy and Joy - that do not sing so badly -, and although we doubted that the 10.000 people arrived whom they had contemplated, in the end arrived more, many more.

*********** THE FAVORITES ************

And the parade to 2:00 of afternoon began, the sky had already become cloudy again and everything was perfect so that the girls were to us in all their splendor. When they announced that already they came, all we were moved and contentments, flags of Mexico, Antigua and Barbuda were already waving, of the Philippines, of Puerto Rico, of Colombia, of Venezuela, of Greece, of Japan and Guatemala, national and foreign photographers and camarógrafos, that was for us fans like to have arrived at the engaged Earth, jajaja. And the girls left: happy, radiating, proud of its identity, and we occurred our visual banquet here. That all there are saying, but I must repeat it because were the commentary generalized between the assistants: "ALL IS VERY, VERY BEAUTIFUL", until Zambia, Malaysia or El Salvador, is beautiful, really, there we understood because they won in his respective countries, and also we understood that there is to support and to applaud to them to all, nonsingle to the national, and thus we made it, but good, vámonos with whom they left us like when one sees a picture of Renoir or Tiziano (asking to us how as much beauty is possible): In appearance order: Angola: WOW, the best one of the first 6 of its group, surprised us all, many we had it in top 15, but after live seeing it, with its so great and expressive eyes, their so fine factions, its attitude of safe woman, smiling single when it is necessary and always maintaining his jaw to 90° of his neck, in addition to its body to the Raquel Welch, became to us Top 5 many! it was concrete how the public remained admired with her and its bearing. We experienced that sound that makes the assistants to a play when in the middle of silence, leaves the protagonist, radiating, lowering of stairs in snail form.

Brazil: Perfect face, perfect skin, perfect legs, I brought pretty, we added the mystery to him of its glance, its smile overflowing joy and a band that it evokes to the country that better dances, we have to a crownable potential.

Estonia: It seemed of another planet, because it had landed in the Earth from the planet of the goddesses, where lives with Maria Felix, Helena of Troy, Angela Visser and Nicole Kidman. In photos, since they crowned it in his country, it seemed one more the blonde, highest, but something boring and without malicia. In person, in his performance, it is nothing else that 185 centimeters of beauty (more slippers), with a hairdo very fashion, legs of artistic skater on ice larguísimas, pequeñita waist, remarkable bust, radiating, brave a woman sexy, that is what projected.

Greece: Mmhmm, to my compass I enchanted to them, me liked much his suit. She is pretty and it was ed ***reflx mng much, but something tired was seen, with ojeras, a tone of skin that was neither white, nor bronzed, nor rosadito, rather like color white coffee, that yes, imposing route that one suit, as if the statue of minerva of Guadalajara had summoned up life and color, is beautiful, but it did not show me that Miss Univer in power that I hoped to see.

India: This woman stopped and she watched me at the eyes, I was shouting the name of his country and moving the hand to not being able more, I I wanted to see those ojotes close by, gorgeous, to my friends it did not seem to them spectacular but to me it seemed to me the word that follows to him, with eyes that are a poem, delgadita, fine, a suit elegantísimo and of so typical original. It is fixed in my TOP 5.

Japan: Japan, along with Brazil, is candidates who little by little, have been put between the coronables, by own merits, that have gained the favoritism with their own effort, Riyo (to that we shouted to him, RI-YO, RI-YO, RI-YO! Instead of Japan, Japan, Japan), were one of which it took afternoon, when it left, and hoped that Jamaica came from return of his parsarela, opened the Kimono and it was in shorts, platforms and moño in the waist, with the internal part of kimono showing a printing of red waves, like a butterfly that, to be black cover, showed vibrant wings of red suddenly, white and gilded, and to top it all, it stopped to average footbridge (and we asking to us: And NOW THAT WILL DO) and it returns to us to surprise taking off the palitos that maintained the hair in front of and shaking the hair to him in chongo to all the photographers, makes a reverence slowly and one becomes to stop taking his nose to aim towards the sky and moving his hair of a side towards another one, never it smiled, but it conquered to us, Riyo had by 3 seconds to 15.000 people to his disposition, at will.

Korea: Adorable, beautiful national suit, of alive colors: yellow, green and red, very different from the white suits with colors pie to which they had customary the Koreans to us of recent years, did not let touch its drum (how the instrument will be called in fact), when it was not marched past and it was the photographers in front of, touched more faster fort to it and, its gesture was charming, like a girl playing and trying to call the attention of its papas. A face of angel and an attitude of winner. Porcelain skin, hoyuelos in the cheeks, and ojitos of Japanese cartoon. One fortísima contender to the crown.
Mexico: And it arrived the host, gorgeous, coqueta, quickly establishes complicity bows with that the sight, their eyes are fast to lasso admiring, thin, of very white skin that resists much with its so black hair, the same effect of their suit, seemed a movie actress of 40's, like Gloria Marín in "Ay Jalisco, you do not crack". Very safe of itself. The suit is not seen so badly, and was refrescante to return to see a Mexican suit without pens! and yes with rebozo and hat. Rose Maria is an extremely charismatic woman, very thanked for with as much applause and clubs and, which matters to us more: beautiful.
Peru: Gorgeous suit, gorgeous youngster, never let smile, the typical suit everything in golden seemed left a Latin American cathedral, but for some reason, she not yet manages to project like all a woman, and seemed that that is its advantage and disadvantage simultaneously. What more she pleased me at her is to see that it is amusing itself, that is passing it or and that is not maleada, is refrescante to see it between as much pose and trick, is as she is and thus she feels very or. Peru congratulations, sent a face to us which they do not forget, that it shouts throughout "Latin".
----INTERRUPCION OF COMPLETES HOUR Here, like initiate a half an hour the event, began to fall gotitas of rain, was scared, thought that a storm would untie and the candidates began to walk more express, no longer stopped so much nor hoped that the previous one finished its route, nevertheless single was suddenly with a group, because, returned when leaving the sun.

Russia: It seems a statue carved by Miguel angel, with the magnetism of a Marilyn Monroe, was other than it seemed cinema star, with his suit of Siberian princess seemed the incarnation of Rapunzel or of the Beautiful Sleeper. One of the best faces - if not best the its dress and a veil did not let see well their body, but by their face and its personality became to us to put between our lists of minimum TOP 10....

Serb: Its suit was like of soldier or Bohemian Serb with wonderbra. All along it had a smile of ear ear, seemed that she was the happiest woman. It has an air to Gwyneth Paltrow, single that Teodora is, in addition, blatantly sexy, with a low back that causes sensation... as it says the song, they imagine to all the beautiful and famous blondes: Gwyneth, Charlize, Rebecca Romjin, Claudia Schiffer... Teodora in the middle of them would not go off key. At least by physical beauty, safe finalist.
Slovenia: Mattel would have to demand it to plagiarize the image of the Barbie. Miss Slovenia is perfect, a blonde bronceda, thin, with a neck to which I calculated about 18 centimeters to him in length, a narizita of baby and much, much class. Its suit was not typical, at least that the suits of delivery of Oscars are the typical suit of Slovenia. To my to seem, and the one of many there present, is the one that, single by look, is the one who has the bearing of being more Universal Miss.

South Africa: WOW, Class, charisma, joy to be in Mexico, giving themselves to I publish, opening the arms requesting that applauded more, broke with all that image of cold and arrogant woman that some we had, is a very sweet, beautiful woman and with very many personality. Very very thin, its suit was pretty, had printings animals and of scenes of the forest, Southafrica, eleven again, among the best!

Spain: Handsome, that effect of the photos in which its face is seen very long is single an effect, in person it is gorgeous, and with hair gathered much more, very elegant and with very a well taken care of skin. Its very pretty suit, of sevillana, remembered to the Actress Peace Fertile valley, Of these Spaniards they are those that must send to Universal Miss, women as it demonstrates the power that is Spain as far as beauty and arts. Of also the most applauded. He is concrete that the Mexicans, of all the classes and ages, in spite of everything, very hard feel a bow with Spain.

The USA: In spite of which they say many, to me if I liked his suit, it seemed to me amused and original, and we accept it, it is not inspired by an ancestral culture but if a contemporary culture of which everybody has been witness. I confess to them that I also am anti-imperialist, but was very very annoying with the booings, I do not blame people, the public in general describes to the girls on the basis of its country, but as she is, she never lost the sanity and she was lightened, in addition, when it gave the final stroll, our group applauded much to him, and to the IU-ES-EI shout! IU-ES-EI! IU-ES-EI, it dedicated to a smile and a bailecito with his guitar... and something to us of more in his chest... Venezuela: Precious suit, finally no longer sent those suits of the crinoline of 3 meters of diameter. Ly very handsome, and very calm, safe, in its paper, leaving itself to want, not if he is arrogant or no, but in the parade did not give that impression, single I hope that a good memory of Mexico takes and that it appreciates the people who have demonstrated her affection to him in this one country. I see it in the end.

*********** THE SURPRISES ************

How, - and it always is what this one event feeds, which makes follow I live are surprises, tricks, performances that hit, new faces, vibrant personalities that we had not noticed and that gain the importance by solitas himself: -
- Australia and its face of wrist, and that in fact is not last of weight, but that is not so noticeably thin as the others. - Miss very handsome Belize, with much personality, and dressing a suit done in Mexico and used by an ex- Miss Mexico.

- Miss Tanzania, did not know if to put it in surprise or favorite but the woman ENCHANTED, very delgadita, finite, short, precious. It seems a dummy, and always smiling of a so ingenuous form, so surprised of that they want so much to it. A girl whom also she has conquered to Mexico and that I see it in the end, as long as his outfit this a the level of its physical beauty.

- Miss Bolivia does not portray very well, but in person she is very beautiful and very sexy. - Norway and Poland, Beautiful, but not as beautiful as I thought.

- Miss Philippines, covering its face with a mask and a dress multicolor, enchanted its calm glance to me and his coquetería calculated, me imagined it simpler and it surprised to me. Very well!

- Miss Puerto Rico is handsome also, their legs are two columns, and its more abundant hair of which I thought, has a personality and poses that remember Paris Hilton. I felt that it needed a little energy in its performance, in addition that sees very pale, because it needs to him to bronze itself, its eyes never opened them absolutely and when it made a movement with his sword because it did with flojera, but as it is, it has with what fighting his place in the end.

- Miss Panama: a word: HUGE FRAME.

- Miss Curazao: Charmer, eyes color honey contrasting a brown skin uniform and a black hair obsidian, in addition to very charismatic list and.

- Miss Czech Republic: WOW, few have it in their favorites but WATERS with her, this woman is one top model in power and live, with its face to the Margaretta Arvidsonn, its blond Hair of a side to the Kim Bassinger, his to walk to the Evelina Papantoniu and its waist to the Glevoba, they put it like one of the safe contenders to enter TOP 15, all surprised to us! - the suit of Miss Egypt is sensational, and its personality is very mysterious, and more adorned like Nefertiti, it left us to all imagining it in one of those cars cubiertso of gold and silk loaded by slaves and she covered with veils by the desert.

- Miss Lebanon with look of good girl to the Debra the young, highest Winger when and of the few with the hair naturally ensortijado, seemed to me very handsome and sexy, and its impressive suit, like the one of Miss Kasakhstan.

**************** AFTER PARTY *********************

we went to the Hotel Dirt road there, and without waiting for much, we are been with the favorites, we took photos, we embraced them, we suffered to chaperonas, we knew personalities pageant World as Enrique Prendiz (he told Us that he says that ball will be no coronation this one year, that did not find patrocinadores), Magali Febles, Scott Grossman, but those that drove crazy to us more they were mises, we saw in the lobby Miss Montenegro, Miss Curazao, Miss South Africa, that was surprised and you asked to How do to me know my name, when I called it by "Hello Megan", jejeje. Miss Serbian (more short of which it weighs but beautiful) who I said me that my sweater yellow it liked much, liked still more... jajaja, miss Canada, that is very likeable, miss Costa Rica, guapísima, short but with an impressive face, seemed to the one of Sara Montiel. Miss Slovenia, who surprised me speaking Spanish and confirmed in person which I either believed, that gorgeous but she is not very interested in gaining the aid, Miss Antigua and Barbuda, Miss New Zealand, handsome, his family it arrived to visit and was very contented platicando with them, that way said me being winged that her sister was Miss New Zealand the last year, that know, but was equal or the more beautiful that she. Also we saw Miss Tanzania, super likeable, to miss Mexico, that arrived to us just when platicábamos with Miss Curazao and we gave tips him to lie down to stock-market to Rebecca de Alba, and with the pain, almost we let to Curazao speaking single to go to us to take photos with Rose Maria, Miss Curazao, if you read to me, DISCULPAME, by the way, Miss Curazao speaks 6 languages and is a enjoyable affluent conversadora. Also I saw to Zuleika, made up well and simple, walked in shorts cortitos very and by such reason, when I requested a photo to him. it did graceful gestures with its face like saying to me that it could not, but soon it said to me, it is well, us we took it, but of the waist for above ehh, jejeje, and me I took it. When we saw Rosy, his chaperona did not let it take photos with us, but steps advanced stopped his chaperona to platicar and Rosy did signs to me, so that outside fast to take the photo me, I ADORED IT by that detail. Rosy in person, - LIKE ALL, except Canada and Australia she is very thin, very finite, but with its affluent enchantment distribuídos, fear pomps, not by nationalisms, but I feel that Pink it has one of the best bodies of the contest, combined to its hair, its smile, and the expression of its eyes. Because it gives the heart to you when it watches to you and laughs with you. Also we saw Miss the USA - likeable, with adorable hoyuelos in the cheeks saying to me that it was passing it in Mexico... mmhm incredible, that reconfortante to know it... And takatataaannn: Special mention to the personality of Miss Colombia: BEAUTIFUL, likeable, delicate, huge frame, simple, sociable, with pretty expression in the eyes when rié, I ENCHANT EILEEN, it also was surprised when I called "Hello Eileen to him Rock", jejeje. They know; when we left the hotel, it was reflecting three things that soon I commented with my friends:

1. - That although it seems Cliche, is a reality: There are no impossible dreams, that what it seems to you distant, can be reached if you are audacious, if you dare and if of as much looking for to him, you are at the moment adapted in the suitable place. Until sabado habia known 4 misses and exmisses in person in all my life, on the following day I knew like a 90.

2-that all is beautiful, and our respect are deserved all, that are people with dreams, sadnesses, low short whiles, strengths, that we must respect them and appreciate them without judging them and making fun of as if they were objects. They do not deserve it.

3.-Definitivamente I feel that I am the best one to be human after this experience, because I will see people and mainly to the queens, of a different way, and less I will dare to speak mockingly of them, or to prejudge, because now I felt them like people, I embraced them, I realized that is women with dreams and ideal and single for that reason they deserve all my respect. Good, they are everything so far, I hope have liked the commentaries, they hope that it publishes the photos later, and we see ourselves in the end, PS. - It is necessary to recognize that the government of the City of Mexico made the things VERY WELL, congratulations and thanks, everything in order, everything on time, even the unexpected concert of the beginning, in the end touched to the mariachi Range thousands and that seemed a celebration, was a very pretty gift for the town of Mexico. THANKS!

My current top 15 prediction list!
With the decline of participants, the 2007 Ms. Universe pageant will bring a lot of changes (and surprises) in this year's edition. The Donald is loosing money because the event is loosing its credibility that's why he needs to re-strategize. The pre-Trump years are coming back... just like the preliminary scores and the charity works... i heard the little sisters are also making a comeback this year (or probably the next). Ms. USA already started it by choosing a substantial woman.

My Top Five

USA As expected... the girl with the complete package. Can't wait how Mexicans will react with her victory.
Philippines I'm telling you, this girl will surprise all of us. With her answer to the final question, she might even run-away with the crown! Whether you (we) like it or not, she will be there!
Venezuela Venezuela is making a BIG comeback after a lackluster 2006 with the beautiful (and almost perfect) Ly Jonaitis.
South Africa This African blond is soooooooo difficult to ignore. A beauty queen who could easily crossover to Hollywood.
Korea The most beautiful Ms. Korea ever and probably the most beautiful Asian candidate in ages. With her charm and beauty a Top 5 slot is an easy task for her.

My Top Ten

Russia A super model in the house!
Colombia She combines charm and x-factor.
Paraguay Who says Latinas can's look natural.
Italy Another overlooked beauty from the European region.
Poland Charm and sex appeal rolled into one.

My Top Fifteen

India Very pretty... hope she wins Ms. Photogenic.
Mexico She has to be there... the booing must stop!
Costa Rica The underrated beauty.
Spain Another outstanding beauty from Europe.
Thailand Business as usual. She is more deserving that last year's Thai candidate though.

Bubbling Beauties: Brazil, Tanzania, Japan, Angola and Greece.

BPCI and Filipino pageant fans from all over the world would like to extand our heartfelt thanks to the member of the Filipino community in Mexico City for the support they gave to Philippine Miss Universe representative Anna Theresa Licaros at yesterday's National Costume Parade held in Mexico City.

A significant number of Filipino expatriates braved the afternoon sun yesterday to get a glimpse and show their Bayanihan support for Tere as she paraded with the other 76 delegates in the National Costume Parade. It was great to see Philippine flags waving at the public event.

BPCI and Philippine pageant fans would also like to thank the Philippine Embassy to Mexico headed by newly installed Philippine ambassador to Mexico Antonio Lagdameo and his able staff headed by Secretary Eduardo Jode De Vega and his wife Consul Theresa Dizon De Vega for their coordinated efforts with the member of the Philippine community Mexico City for the morale boosting effort.

Mabuhay tayong lahat! Maraming salamat sa inyo.

Miss U.S.A. was booed by Mexicans during the National Costume competition!

5/20 - National Costumes: Thousands of people gathered at the Angel de la Independencia to witness the National Costume competition, which was held outdoors and was open to the general public.

The event happend at the same time when a bike rally was under course at the same place (to promote the use of bikes instead of automobiles). The 77 contestants paraded in alphabetical order for around 45 minutes. The parade ended earlier due to the rain.

Some contestants wore enormous costumes, while others wore the traditional attire of their countries. The most applauded contestant was Mexico (Rosa Maria Ojeda), followed by Spain (Natalia Zabala).

Miss USA (Rachel Smith) who wore a very creative female Elvis Presley costume, was booed by the audience, due to the unstable political relations between Mexico and the United States.

Such situation reminded the incident which happened during the Miss Universe 1993 contest when Miss USA (Kenya Moore) was booed during the whole telecast until she was voted off by the judges.

Among the audience there was a man dressed as Spiderman, and some women showed up with sashes proclaiming themselves Miss Juarez, Miss Atenco and Miss Michoacan, in reference to places in Mexico where women have been raped or killed.

The winner of today's competition will be announced during the final telecast on May 28th.

Most of the costumes paraded would fit better in a carnival parade. Only a few wore traditional costumes that are representative of their countries like Norway, Finland, Korea, Spain and Mexico.

With all the mixed reactions I'm reading here on Tere's national costume, I am beginiing to think that some of us - as rabid and die hard pageant fans that we all are - are starting to hit the panic buttom re Tere's chances of breaking Top 15.

My input for now. I think Tere's gown is great. The simple lines and flower print designs are very much approriate for the May month of flowers or flores to our Mexican counterparts. Incidentally , Mexico celebrates May as a month of flowers too just like we do in the Philippines. It was just too bad that as someone pointed out here. Baara the designer did not expect that the National Costume presentation was to be presented in an open air stage in the middle of Mexico City's Federal Plaza under the heat of the mid afternoon sun. Tere's gown was meant and could have had more impact had it been presented during the night and under the glare of the stage lights and spot beams. Besides, I thought the color black which was a highlight of Tere's national costume bodice is a color best worn at night time and not uder today's inder the sun circumstances.

I dont blame all the Mabuhay Pageants readers who felt that the national costume was a disaster. Those opinions really depend on how you see and regard the gown. However, I compared Tere's gowns with the rest of the candidates and thought it had more appeal, creativity than the rest.

If there is any consolation to the national costume parade competition - is that it is a relatively non bearing event and does not in any way affect the way the preliminary jurors would score the delegates in the presentation show. With this thought, I and the rest of us could rest easy for now. But do keep those productive, constructive and insightful feedbacks coming for Tere to read here. Hopefully she will listen to all the great suggestions and yes unsolicited but nevertheless wise advice from all of us panicky Pinoy pageant fans.

Mabuhay Mabuhay USA posters and readers!

Trivia: * One peculiar thing about the Mexican local judges is that, in the three years (3 different decades – 70’s -78, 80’-89s and the 90’s - 93) that the Miss Universe Pageant were held in their country, the more that the costume is outrageously spectacular and enormously big, the more it would be surprisingly snubbed (including the ones of the host country - Mexico). Simple costume designs that is truly reflective of the culture and history of the country being represented, and the elegance of the delegate who carried it, gets to be appreciated more.

Let’s review …….

According to sources, Miss Philippines allegedly has an IQ of 176. This makes her a real genius. Do you really think having a high IQ makes one more intellectually superior and guarantees a successful future ahead? My father's IQ is only 130 but he is a very successful businessman earning lots of money, I mean LOTS. In fact, we can afford not to work and just live on interest earned from our fat bank deposits.

Had I known na medyo hindi gaano kamahal pumunta, go sana ang beauty ko! I just learns na $560 ang package deal to go to the pageant and that includes the final night tixs and some other perks.
